Send Me

"Send Me" a song I love by Lecrae of 116 Clique, with lyrics below.

Send me I'll go,
send me I'll go,
send me I'll go,
lemme go, lemme go!
(repeat x4)

I seen it with my own two,
there's no way i can show you
a perfectly poverty stricken people with no view.
And I bet you can't believe this,
they've never heard of Jesus.
Heard of Young Buck, Lil' Wayne, and Young Jeezy.

No one's signing up to go on missions this summa.
Rather sit at home and watch Exzibit pimp in a humma
while a nine year old is shot down.
No one's screaming "stop now!"
No bridge illustrations for criminals who on lock down.

People deep in Africa
lookin' for an answer bra'.
and China men,
are dyin' men,
until they know who died for sin.
So, look what grace did.
Not for us to stay hid
inside our comfort zones
at home in mama's basement.

Get out on the grind y'all.
Ain't no better time dog.
I know ya' read the great commission.
Let me just remind y'all:
Make disciples of the nations.
Teach'm to obey the Lord.
Hate to never lead someone to Christ before I face the Lord.

Send me I'll go,
send me I'll go,
send me I'll go,
lemme go lemme go!
(repeat x4)

Hey! After, 1,000 years in the west and the churches
get'n bigger daily without understand'n worship. (say what?)
Some regenerated but a lot ain't saved.
You walk outside and be surprised cuz the block ain't changed.
And the numbers they be get'n 'em.
Something still ain't hit'n 'em.
America ain't Christian they just practice'n the ritual.
That's why we should be mission though.
Hey, what you think I'm spit'n for?
United States is die'n
and the east is looking pitiful.

Some places if they catch you
they'll arrest you
and they'll serve you,
but they still need the word too.
The gospel should be heard too.
We claim we ain't ashamed,
but yet we still ain't hit the block up.
We in our christian bubble,
while our brotha's get'n locked up.
Lord I wanna stock up,
pack a bag and walk up
in a country where sharin' my faith may get me shot up.
Anyway it go, whether my city Lord or far abroad,
I just wanna show 'em Jesus Christ the risen holy God.

Send me I'll go,
send me I'll go,
send me I'll go,
lemme go lemme go!
(repeat x4)

I know they die'n in the streets over in the Middle East.
Some kids seekin' peace,
others hold'n up a piece.
If the violence doesn't cease,
then at least the deceased
might know Jesus as their savior as their bodies hit the streets.
And i know this is a graphic view.
I pray that it's attack'n you,
'tractin' you to act and do
what you see in the back of (listen!)
Mathew twenty-four and fourteen
we should read it twice
before we think that life is just a battle
of us bein' free in Christ!
Look dawg! Life is more than church, work and football!
What if you were dead in sin and Christians overlooked y'all?
This is why we leave the couch
and leave the comforts of our house
to show a die'n world a God they'll probably never read about.

The great commission says make disciples of all nations.
Have we even made 'em in our own nation?
Come on christians!
Missions exist because worship doesn't.
People don't worship the God that made 'em.
We're ambassadors.
Let's go!

Send me I'll go,
send me I'll go,
send me I'll go,
lemme go lemme go!
(repeat x4)

Christmas Cookies Found!

Because Nabisco decided that this year's seasonal Oreos would be celebrating "Winter", I had to ask the question "Where are the Christmas cookies?" Well, this post is all good news... I found some!

As you can see from the above photo, Nestle has actually made special Christmas versions of their famous Toll House cookies and brownies. You can purchase "Christmas Swirled" cookies and brownies, "Christmas Shapes" sugar and gingerbread cookies, and "Christmas Trees" sugar cookies.

Also, Pillsbury has a more limited selection, but is making their Ready To Bake sugar cookies in a special "Christmas Tree" version. Pillsbury is also selling some secular themed cookies though. For instance a snow man cookie, and a reindeer cookie without any mention of Christmas. How they can sell reindeer cookies without Christmas anywhere on the packaging is a peculiar puzzle to me, because, as far as I know, reindeer are predominantly associated in our culture with making Christmas Eve toy deliveries.

Regardless, I am just very thankful to see Christmas cookies with "Christmas" written clearly on the packaging at my local store. I hope you can find them in yours, too!

"In God We Trust": On The Edge, Or Not On The Coin At All

The George Washington dollar coin released in February was designed to have "In God We Trust" inscribed on the edge of the coin, but some were mistakenly made lacking the standard currency statement. Conspiracy? I think not. An unfortunate mistake? I think so. The coins bearing the error (lacking "In God We Trust", "E Pluribus Unum", the year and mint mark) have been fetching collector prices of $40-60 dollars on Ebay, with the first found coin going for $600.
Like I said, I don't believe this was a conspiracy, but I do think there is some coincidentally interesting symbolism to consider. This coin was the first since 1933 to intentionally place the typical inscriptions on the edge rather than the face of the coin. That is where I find unique symbolism between this coin and the current mood about God in politics and an increasingly secular culture: God is not wanted on the face, and, if it were so easy, would be on the edge or absent.

The liberal cultural movement has increasingly sought to remove Christian references from every type of public display, and change the mainstream perception of Christians from "normal", God-loving, God-fearing and moral Americans to radical, delusional, and uncaring fringe activists. The modern liberal movement is constantly trying to push God out of the center, and replace Him with global warming, socialist welfare and liberal sexual morality, among other things.

The good news. We read the Scriptures. God already told us this would happen. We have nothing to fear because we are living within God's divine plan. Some of those lost who persecute our faith in the Lord will indeed find salvation and Heaven in the midst of their efforts to deny it (like Saul... Paul), because they will find out that there denial was, like the omission on the coins, a mistake.

As Christians, we are in absolutely exciting times. Our faith and God's presence has so many new opportunities to reach those who don't believe. I recently watched a sermon by Pastor Ed Young of Fellowship Church in Grapevine, TX and he said something I found truly encouraging: Christians are experiencing a creative revival. We are! Think about all of the different ministries that are currently reaching so many different types of people. Cowboys, bikers, Hindus, Muslims, Catholics, rappers, athletes, etc. are all receiving the Gospel and committing to Christ because of the phenomenal and unique responses of Christians who dedicate themselves to saving those caught in the liberal culture.

Those who promote liberal culture might try, but try as they might, nobody can hide the Truth. God is a real and living God. Jesus was born of a virgin, walked, was crucified, was buried and rose. And, God will always be obvious in life, because he created it!
